About The Author

Mr. Scott is a retired Captain from the Corpus Christi Police Department having 36 years of distinguished service. At retirement his service to the Department was in the Command of the Department's technology operations including planning for, as well as recovering from natural and/or man made disasters.

Mr. Scott was the project manager for the deployment of the Citywide Automated Gas and Water meter reading system (AMR) and the deployment of Citywide Wi-Fi. In addition to these duties, he is a former adjunct instructor of Computer Science at Del Mar College.

In February 2006, Mr. Scott was named by Government Technology Magazine as one of the Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers in the United States. He has served as primary speaker at events throughout the world and continues to be quoted by leading publications as a primary strategist for wireless data systems and software.

Mr. Scott is a 1976 graduate of Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi having earned both a BS and BA degree. He is a 1984 graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi and a 1988 graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police sponsored by the Police Executive Research Forum.)
