Since 2004, Richard Kinchlea has been one of two Emergency Management Coordinators for the City of Hamilton, Canada and is now the city's designated Community Emergency Management Coordinator.
Richard is the President of the Ontario Association of Emergency Managers and sits on the Continuity of Government Sector Working Group of the Ontario Critical Infrastructure Assurance Program. He continues to be involved with the development of the Emergency Management profession through working with the World Conference on Disaster Management and the Canadian Centre for Emergency Preparedness Richard is also an instructor at Centennial College, Toronto in Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
Richard obtained his Bachelor of Environmental Studies, with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo (Canada) and has also attained the Associate Business Continuity Professional designation from the Disaster Recovery Institute.
Richard has been published in Municipal World Magazine and Canadian Underwriter and has presented at various conferences and seminars including the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction and the World Conference on Disaster Management.
